Storm Affects an Arlington Home

The strong winds from this tropical storm (no, it was not Hurricane Irma) ripped off a section of the roof and whipped a driving rain through the attic spilling water along its path. OUr SERVPRO of Arlington storm team arrived almost immediately after the phone call for help and began the cleanup, demolition, and removal of the storm-damaged building elements. The insulation, soaked and contaminated, was tossed along with the drywall panels. The After Photo illustrates the drying out process nearing completion. The amount of water and the several days between our customer's discovery of the problem resulted in secondary damage to the engineered wood flooring that could not be saved. Our credo of "restoring before replacing" has its limitations, but we always strive to save our clients'  belongings and structure.
