Community JT Townsend Foundation event at Unity Plaza Jacksonville JT Townsend Board Members & SERVPRO Jacksonville South & Arlington Team

The team from SERVPRO of Jacksonville South & Arlington, the JT Townsend Foundation, as well as family and friends gathered to remember JT Townsend. The day of remembrance was held at Unity Plaza to celebrate what would have been JT’s 30th birthday. The Foundation shared with everyone their recent milestone in charitable giving, they have raised over $500,000 in funds to assist more than 245 First Coast families.

We were honored to present a check to the JT Townsend Foundation from long-time JT Townsend Foundation Partner, SERVPRO Jacksonville South & Arlington. Our owner Bryce Clark and team have been supporting the JT Townsend Foundation for nearly five years through community events, golf tournaments and other fundraising activities. We have donated over $40,000 to the Foundation to continue their work in helping First Coast families with disabilities.

The month of February also launched the continued efforts to raise funds for the JT Townsend Endowed Scholarship at the University of North Florida.  JT was a UNF alumnus and earned his degree in sport management in the spring of 2013. The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate sport management majors.

To Continue to Help Families Living with Disabilities on the First Coast

November 19, 2014 – Ponte Vedra, Fla. – JT Townsend Foundation is pleased to announce that we’ve
recently reached a major milestone to continue our work to help families living with disabilities on the First
Coast. The JT Townsend Foundation continues to focus its efforts to help children and adults living with
disabilities receive adaptive equipment and resources to improve their lives. Thanks to the generosity of
SERVPRO® of Arlington and Jacksonville South, JT Townsend Foundation can now assist even more familieson the First Coast.

SERVPRO® of Arlington and Jacksonville South held its 4th Annual Customer Appreciation Golf Tournament
on October 24, 2014 at Windsor Golf Club with the JT Townsend Foundation named as the beneficiary for the
second consecutive year. The event was sold out and featured more than 25 Corporate and Community
Sponsors including Sunbelt Rentals, Black Knight Financial, Flooring America, Jaguars Foundation, Suddath, THE PLAYERS, The Coca-Cola Company, Yellow Pages and more.

The event was filled with festivities including a Hole-In-One Contest presented by J. Ryder Group and Mike Davidson Ford, a Straightest Drive Contest presented by Fred Funk and a Silent Auction benefitting the Foundation.

“We are grateful to SERVPRO® of Arlington and Jacksonville South for their generous support over the years and their donation has helped us surpass a key milestone to provide more that $300,000 of adaptive medical equipment and financial resources to 135 families. Our requests continue to grow and we hope that others will support JT Townsend Foundation so we can continue to help those in need,” said Judi Zitiello, Chairperson, JT Townsend Foundation.

“We were so pleased to support the JT Townsend Foundation with our annual golf tournament. It’s a great
feeling to be able to contribute to our community to help those families living with disabilities and we hope
others will be inspired to give to the JT Townsend Found tion especially during this holiday season,” added
Bryce Clark, Owner, SERVPRO® of Arlington and Jacksonville South.

JT Townsend Foundation
JT Townsend, the foundation’s founder, suffered a spinal cord injury playing football for his high school team, Episcopal High School, on October 8, 2004, in a game against Bishop Kenny High School. Despite his injury, JT made great strides including starting his own foundation, JTTF, to give back to those in the community who provided support for him in his time of need. In April 2013, JT graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Sport Management. Unfortunately six weeks later, JT suddenly passed away on June 5, 2013 at the age of 26. His foundation continues his legacy of giving back and paying forward. In three years of its existence, JTTF has helped 135 families in Northeast Florida with over $309,000 for adaptive equipment and financial assistance. With your help his legacy will live on through his foundation and continue to help families on the First Coast.
